The Baltimore Ravens haven't yet ruled out star quarterback Lamar Jackson for Sunday's crucial Week 17 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. While the Ravens could very well make this a game-time decision, the current expectation is that Tyler Huntley will be the starter, per NFL Media's Ian Rapaport.

Jackson suffered an ankle injury in Week 14 and then missed the next two games. He tried returning to practice earlier this week but had a clear limp, and he didn't practice on Thursday or Friday. The Ravens star is doing his best to return for this huge game, but barring a miracle, it's looking like he just won't be ready.

Huntley missed the Week 16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals because of COVID-19. The quarterback came off the COVID list earlier in the week and took first-team reps with Jackson sidelined at practice. Huntley has performed admirably in relief of Jackson this season, so Baltimore will have some level of confidence if it is indeed him getting the start.

After starting 8-3, the Ravens have lost four games in a row and are in danger of missing the playoffs. They're currently in the No. 8 spot in the AFC with their 8-7 record, and beating the Rams will be a tall order as they try to save their season. It was going to be difficult no matter the quarterback under center, and it seems it's going to be a backup trying to save the day.
