Jadeveon Clowney can still be a destructive force on the field. Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert found out about that the hard way when he strip-sacked the signal-caller in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's 20-10 Baltimore Ravens win.
Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III, who also played before with the Ravens, was left in awe of Clowney, even praising the Ravens' move to add the veteran pass rusher to the team back in the offseason.
“Jadeveon Clowney to the Ravens is one of the best off-season additions in the NFL this year.” Griffin shared on X (formerly Twitter).
After parting ways with the Cleveland Browns back in the offseason, Clowney decided to stay in the AFC North division and sign a one-year deal with the Ravens worth $2.5 million.
Clowney has been a force for the Ravens' defense this season, especially of late. Over Baltimore's last three games, the 30-year-old Clowney has managed to collect four sacks, six quarterback hits, three tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.
The Houston Texans selected Clowney first overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, carrying with him a ton of promise. However, injuries and inconsistent play have left fans disappointed of Clowney, who could have been a superstar in the NFL with all the talent he has. Nevertheless, he's a three-time Pro Bowler, all occurring during his time with the Texans.
It is also still not too late for Clowney to remind everyone of his great capabilities on defense, just like he did in the Chargers game.
Clowney and the Ravens will take a rest with a bye in Week 13 before facing the Los Angeles Rams at home in Week 14.
