The people questioning whether or not Lamar Jackson could throw the football were quickly silenced in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. When speaking about his nearly flawless performance, Jackson didn't mince words:

Coming into Sunday's game, fans and the media alike both envisioned Jackson running the ball 20 times and throwing it 15 times. That wasn't the case at all, with the second-year quarterback out of Louisville completing 17 of his 20 attempts for 324 yards and five touchdowns for a perfect 158.3 passer rating on the day.

Jackson ran it just three times for six yards throughout the entirety of the game. Not many people believed that it would be Jackson's arm that led them to a 59-10 victory over the Dolphins.

Coming out of college, some scouts believed the Ravens quarterback would best serve as a running back in the NFL. As a result, Jackson has begun to use that sentiment as motivation to prove himself as a thrower.

Last season, Baltimore began the season with a 4-5 record with Joe Flacco as their starter. The Ravens were grasping for straws to try to get back into the playoff race, so they inserted Jackson into the starting lineup as a rookie.

The rookie quarterback would excel in a run-oriented offense that saw him run it 147 times for 695 yards and five touchdowns. Therefore, the belief was that we'd see the same offensive game plan in 2019 from offensive coordinator Greg Roman.

Instead, in Week 1, the shifty quarterback showed off the new-look offense by connecting on nearly all of his passes. If Lamar Jackson can keep up this play as a passer, it won't be long before his name begins to be mentioned among the NFL's best young quarterbacks.
