In Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson's appearance on The Shop, he discussed several topics about his football career and his mindset with other successful people from various industries. The group included Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and musician/actor Donald Glover.
One topic that was briefly mentioned was Black quarterbacks in the NFL. ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that Jackson made the claim that racial bias against Black quarterbacks still exists. The Ravens Pro Bowler fired a shot at Schefter, claiming his quote was misrepresented.
That was not my response to that specific question don’t start that ADAM🙄 https://t.co/pzH2b1YWVS

In the show, the bias Black quarterbacks face and have faced was not brought up as a topic of conversation. James was discussing how people don't see him as a natural scorer despite being the NBA's all-time leader in total points. He stated that Jackson knows what it feels like to have his talent diminished because he doesn't fit the mold of what his position is supposed to be.
Jackson chimed in when James said that bias against Black quarterbacks was still around but is dying off, a part of the back-and-forth that Schefter omitted from his tweet. Jackson never outright made the claim or gave a long explanation about it. It was a passing comparison between the unfair perceptions of the Lakers' and Ravens' respective stars.
Former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant, who played with Jackson on the Ravens in the last year of his career, explained that Schefter was using Jackson's name to get views and doesn't care about how he truly feels.
misleading headline .. no one cares until Lamar responds.. his job was to get you to respond for views.. Adam don’t give a damn about how you feel.. creating them headlines hoping you respond is how he eat… cold world bro https://t.co/QlnALResGe

Jackson's fantastic career with the Ravens has proven that he has what it takes to be a star quarterback. The requests from teams to consider playing other positions looks dumber with every strong game he plays and record he smashes.
