Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is excited to lace up the boots with veteran wideout Dez Bryant.

The Ravens signed Bryant to the practice squad and are exhibiting patience before rushing him into action. But Jackson is clearly thrilled with what he has seen from Bryant on the practice field:

“Oh man, he’s a great route runner, strong hands, he’s dialed into the playbook; he’s always asking me questions about the playbook – stuff like that,” the Ravens QB said, via Matthew Stevens of USA Today. “He wants to compete. I just can’t wait until he gets out there with us on Sundays and fully practices with us.”

Bryant has not played since the 2017 season, when he had 69 receptions for 838 yards and six touchdowns as a member of the Dallas Cowboys.

However, the former All-Pro has maintained a steady workout routine over the course of the past few teams, garnering speculative interest from a number of teams.

Jackson seems to believe the 32-year-old can help Baltimore's offense. But it remains to be seen when Bryant will don the Ravens jersey for the first time.

Head coach John Harbaugh reiterated Friday the team will not unleash Dez until he has a firm grasp on the offense.

The reigning NFL MVP could certainly use another playmaker in the passing game. Jackson has struggled in the last three weeks, completing well under 60 percent of his passes. He completed just 13 of 28 passes in last weekend's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing two interceptions and losing a pair of fumbles.

Baltimore's rushing attack is still one of the strongest in football. But they need Jackson to be more efficient in the passing game, and LJ seems to feel Bryant could be the missing ingredient in that department.
