Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson feels he needs to focus on all aspects of his game.

This was what Jackson told the Ravens' official website (via Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper) on May 23.

Jackson admitted as much when he spoke to reporters on Thursday and said he needs to ‘focus on everything' as long as the offense remains a work in progress. Jackson believes that it is very much a work in progress right now.

‘I'd say my first day, I sucked,' Jackson said, via the team's website. ‘Second day, I did better. Today was all right, but it could have been better. I always try to be perfect in practice. It was all right for the first week.'

According to Clifton Brown of BaltimoreRavens.com, Jackson is learning the intricacies of offensive coordinator Greg Roman's new system. The Ravens signal caller is getting accustomed to both new plays and new players.

Jackson admitted to Brown he's not familiar with all of the Baltimore rookies. “We've got a lot of rookies, I wish I knew their names,” Jackson said. “I don't just want to say jersey numbers.”

Now that long-time face of the franchise Joe Flacco is with the Denver Broncos, Jackson takes over the reins under center.

Once Jackson becomes more familiar with the Ravens' new system, he should help the Ravens build on their 10-6 record last season.

The 22-year-old Jackson threw for 1,201 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions in 2018.
