This year's installment of Madden NFL is a bittersweet one for Lamar Jackson. Though the Baltimore Ravens' star quarterback did make the cover of Madden 21, he only got a 94 overall rating to Jackson's disappointment.

Jackson joined ESPN's SportsCenter on Monday evening, during which his player rating of 94 was revealed to him.

“I wish it was better,” the Ravens star said after exclaiming and sighing in disbelief about his rating. “But hey, it’s better than what it was last year, so I guess we can roll with it until the season starts.”

Way to look on the brighter side of things, LJ.

Lamar Jackson is coming off an incredible MVP season for the Ravens, as he exceeded all expectations in his sophomore year as the starting QB of the Baltimore franchise.

Madden initially had him at 76 overall in his first year in the league. He quickly silenced the critics and had an unforgettable showing in the 2019 regular season, which had him soaring all the way to a 92 player rating by Week 16.

Clearly, there's no way but up for the young playmaker.

Jackson's 94 overall rating is already a huge jump from last year's initial ratings, but the 23-year-old, as always, is hungry for more. The reigning MVP is looking to improve on the Ravens' early exit in last season's playoffs and this relatively subpar rating gives him some much-needed fuel heading into the 2020 training camp.
