There is no doubt that former NFL quarterback Steve Young knows a thing or two about playing the position at the highest level. However, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and San Francisco 49ers legend made quite a head-scratching comment regarding Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson ahead of Week 10's installment of Monday Night Football.

“I think until further notice to play championship football, you're gonna have to be the orchestrator from the pocket,” Young said during the pregame of Monday Night Football, via Sports Illustrated. “You can't make enough plays, as electrifying as they are, and proven by Deshaun Watson, he should watch Deshaun Watson.”

Young wasn't done, however, as he continued to praise Watson and his ability under center.

“Deshaun has said I can be as electrifying as anybody, but I'm going to play the position. Lamar has said, I want to learn the position as well,” Young added, via Sports Illustrated. “That doesn't mean you can't be electrifying. It doesn't mean you can't run around and make some tremendous plays.”

Of course, it is no secret that both Jackson and Watson are two of the best quarterbacks — let alone young quarterbacks — in the game today. While each will continue to get even better in addition to learning more and more each and every day, it is hard to say that there is currently a major gap between these two signal-callers. In fact, it can be said that Jackson is the best quarterback in the league right now.
