Updating a previous report, it has now been confirmed that Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle will be out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. The 27-year-old was carted off the field on Sunday in a matchup against the New England Patriots, and at this point, the worst-case scenario has just transpired for the Ravens.

Jamison Hensley of ESPN confirmed the unfortunate news:

Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle suffered a season-ending left knee injury in the third quarter of Sunday night's 23-17 loss at the New England Patriots, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said.

This is an undeniably tough blow for both the Ravens and the league, given how Boyle is widely considered as one of the top blocking tight ends in the NFL today. For Baltimore, this likely means increased workload for Mark Andrews, as the Ravens look to plug the void left by Boyle, who ends his season with 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 14 receptions across nine games played. Needless to say, Boyle's absence is a punch to the gut of Baltimore's offense that already lost left tackle Ronnie Stanley for the rest of the 2020 NFL season.

Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson recently learned about how Nick Boyle is going to be sidelined for the rest of the campaign, and the reigning league MVP could not hide his frustration:

“Nick is our brother,” Jackson said. “We were hoping he would just be out for the game at least. But [we're] just finding out he's out for the season. I don't even know what to say. [I'm] ticked off.”

Jackson pretty much encapsulated how the entire team, as well as the rest of Baltimore's fanbase, are feeling right now. Nonetheless, they will need to pick themselves up quickly, as they face off against the Tennessee Titans for Week 11.
