The Baltimore Ravens ignored the noise on Lamar Jackson. They knew better.

“Lamar Jackson is a running back.”

“Lamar Jackson can't throw at all.”

In the opener of the 2019 season, Baltimore Ravens quarterback proved he's no running back. He shredded the Miami Dolphins defense to the tune of 324 yards and five touchdowns. Any trash talk has to be taken back after that kind of performance. Jackson also earned a perfect passer rating which he learned after the fact. After hearing this, the young signal-caller decided to have some fun with his doubters.

The former Louisville Cardinal has always been an extremely mobile player, but that doesn't take anything away from his passing abilities. The running back jokes started last year after the wild card playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Jackson struggled mightily against the Bolts, as they stifled any and all of the Ravens triple-option attack. He looked completely helpless during the game, as he was just a sitting duck for pass-rushers.

This year is clearly different than last. Baltimore no longer relies solely on the option attack. Jackson looks totally comfortable dropping back in the pocket and delivering dimes. While it's true it was just against the Dolphins, it still means something. Any time a signal-caller only throws three incompletions with five touchdowns, it's impressive. Jackson has another soft matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in week two. Fantasy owners are salivating over the thought of another five touchdown day for Jackson, and it's very possible. Every Sunday is another opportunity for Jackson to prove himself.
