Prior to joining the L.A. Clippers this offseason, veteran point guard Raymond Felton had heard very little about their players' relationships with each other. He knows they are well coached, but how much they like one another remained a mystery to him.

After being part of their training camp the past two weeks, the North Carolina product saw firsthand how much chemistry his teammates have – and he was left surprised. Per Dan Woike of the Orange County Register:

“I didn’t know this team was as close as it is. This team is actually pretty close. You hear a lot of negative stuff through the years about this team when you’re on other teams. But being here, this team is actually closer than you think. That surprised me.”

Even the team's super-sub and reigning NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Jamal Crawford, shared that when he talks about their closeness as a team to his friends from the league, they usually do not believe him given all the negative reports that were reported about their squad:

“You get the side eye sometimes,” Crawford said. “But we’re in the fox hole together so we know how each other are. We know how close we are. Of course there are disagreements along the way. But we know, overall, how close we are.”

Now that he knows what the real situation is between his teammates, Raymond Felton is focused on fitting in and making a contribution to the Clippers this coming season. Given his court savvy and experience from playoff appearances in the past, the 32-year-old looks to make an impact to the team and build the same chemistry they have with one another.
