Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman was involved in an altercation with Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan after last Saturday's game. Norman took exception to Lewan paying a visit to the house to his sideline after the game. Peter Haley of NBC Sports reported Norman's exception to Lewan's sideline antics.
“You go out your way to come to his bench, his sideline, to go at him in that kind of way. Maximum disrespect. Ultimate disrespect. We're not having that, I don't care who we play for or what we do. We will not tolerate disrespect.”
Norman added that Lewan should have done a better job protecting quarterback Marcus Mariota after Mariota was forced to leave the game due to injury.
“What he should've been worried about and what he should've been relevant about is his quarterback. Because our line ran through him like water through rocks. I mean, gosh, you would think he would've been doing a better job protecting him.”
In all actuality, Lewan should not have gone onto the Redskins sideline, but in the heat of the moment, a lot of athletes do things they wouldn't normally do.
“You come up to someone else's sideline like he did, I don't care how big you are. You can be a giant. You step into that domain, it's kill or be killed. That's how I look at it.”
Norman ended the day with the media stating: “I don't take disrespect lightly.”
