The Washington Football Team benched quarterback Dwayne Haskins on Wednesday in a rather surprising move since it's still so early in the NFL season, and Kansas City Chiefs star safety Tyrann Mathieu reacted to the news on social media.

Mathieu is hoping Haskins keeps his head up since the NFL can be a brutal business at times, as he said in a tweet on Wednesday.

The Washington Football Team is 1-3 on the season after a turbulent offseason that saw multiple scandals and the retirement of “Redskins”. Through the first four games of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, Haskins threw for 939 yards and had four touchdowns and three interceptions.

The 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft—then selected by the “Redskins”—completed 61.0 percent of his passes, but the team has lost three games in a row after defeating the Eagles in Week 1.

Washington will start Kyle Allen in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams. Haskins won't be the backup QB, though, as he was demoted to third-string. Alex Smith will be the second-string QB.

Tyrann Mathieu doesn't have to worry about any drama on his team, as the Chiefs are 4-0 and look like the best club in the NFL again. Kansas City also has the top QB in the game in Patrick Mahomes, who signed a $500 million contract before the season started.

Hopefully, this isn't the last we see of Haskins as a starter in the NFL. He's only 23 years old and hasn't exactly been given a fair shot since getting drafted out of Ohio State.
