Washington Redskins Derrius Guice doesn't have an active Twitter account, and there are some questions exactly why that is. On Friday Erin Hawksworth of 106.7 The Fan reported that Guice had suffered a hamstring injury and he was now questionable for the start of training camp.
Guice tried to downplay the injury taking to Twitter on Friday saying he doesn't listen to the noise, and he knows exactly what is going on with him. One user replied that people were freaking out, and Guice replied to him saying that they were freaking out “for no reason.”
Now Guice has deactivated the Twitter account, and it's unclear if it's because he was sick of hearing everyone talk, or because he is just trying to get ready for training camp.
Earlier in the offseason, the hope was that Guice would be ready for OTA's, but with him missing out coach Jay Gruden pointed towards training camp as the goal.
Now with the hamstring injury, there is no doubt that the Redskins are going to be careful and now the start of training camp really has to be in doubt.
With Guice now in question, there are a lot of question marks surrounding the running back position, which is concerning because it was supposed to be a position of strength.
The Redskins have Adrian Peterson, and he is expected to have a significant role, but the hope was the young guys would also take some of the pressure off of him. The team also drafted Bryce Love in the 4th round, but he is also dealing with his own knee injury.
Hopefully, Guice and Love get healthy soon so that they could be a big part of the Redskins offense this year.
