The Washington Redskins seem to be finally be committed to Dwayne Haskins for the rest of the year. Following the team's decision, Haskins reacted to being named the starter for the rest of the season.

The Redskins have started three different quarterbacks in 2019 in Case Keenum, Colt McCoy, and Haskins. With neither Keenum or McCoy doing much, head coach Bill Callahan has chosen to stick with his rookie signal-caller.

When the Redskins used their 15th overall pick on Haskins, there was a belief that they would allow him to develop under Keenum and McCoy. Instead, Washington is choosing to thrust him into the offense in a less-than-ideal situation.

Haskins has started in one game thus far and completed 15 of his 22 passes for 144 yards in that game. Altogether, the Ohio State product has aired it out for 284 yards and four interceptions in the three games that he has appeared in.

With Washington having a 1-8 record, they want to get a good look at their 15th overall pick for an extended period of time. The Redskins have nothing to lose and may as well give Haskins some experience heading into the 2020 season.

Even while there has plenty of distractions, Haskins seems to be handling the situation very maturely. Haskins will get his second consecutive start on Sunday against the New York Jets.

Until there is some stability in Washington, it is unfair to criticize the play of Haskins. At the same time, it would be great to see some improvement from the young quarterback as the season comes to a close.
