Colt McCoy got hurt, and the Washington Redskins quickly replaced him with the only available quarterback on the roster.

That signal-caller is none other than Mark Sanchez, who used to play for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014 and 2015.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFLNetwork, the Philly fans gave the 32-year old a standing ovation as he entered the playing field.

Eagles fans may be cheering because they know Sanchez is gonna mess things up for the Redskins. Or they are probably grateful to him because of the time that he spent with the team, who knows?

What's for sure is that the Redskins are already using their third quarterback of the season. They have no other options left on the bench and must do everything to protect Sanchez.

Sanchez joined the Eagles in March of 29, 2014 after being released by the New York Jets five days earlier. In two seasons with the team, his numbers were not that remarkable. He threw for 3,034 yards and 18 touchdowns with 15 interceptions.

He split time playing quarterback with Nick Foles and Sam Bradford while he was with the team. However, he could not lead them to a successful run as his starting record was only  4-6 during his two-year tenure in Philly. The Eagles also missed the playoffs in those two years.

Sanchez is given another chance and it's up to him if he'll be able to regain his glory days. He had his best runs with the Jets in 2009 and 2010. In those years they were able to reach the AFC championship game with Sanchez behind center. But unfortunately, he is also known for the “Butt-fumble” play.
