It looks like the Raptors recent success will have a firm leader backing the organization.
Head coach Dwane Casey has reportedly agreed to three-year, $18 million dollar extension to his contract with the Raptors. Now onto his sixth year with the organization, Casey has high hopes to continue his trend of success with his team.
Every since Casey took over the program, he has elevated the Raptors team to finish the regular season with their highest showing. Finishing 56-26 as the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference (only behind the 57-25 Cavaliers), Casey seems comfortable being at the helm.
With his position locked into place, Casey must now keep his core assets of the team together. Shooting guard DeMar DeRozan is entering free agency this offseason, but it seems as though he is not going anywhere.
Hopefully for the Raptors, the team manages to hold everything together this next year and rally for another Eastern Conference Championship.
