Free agent point guard Ramon Sessions is finalizing a one-year, $2.3 million minimum deal with the New York Knicks, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

The Knicks will now have a veteran guard to mentor rookie Frank Ntilikina through his first season in the league, likely shifting Ron Baker to either a third-string shooting guard behind Courtney Lee or the first point guard off the bench.

The 10-year floor general struggled throughout his 50 games with the Charlotte Hornets, shooting 38 percent from the field and 34 percent from deep as a reserve, while playing the fewest minutes per game in his career (16.2).

Sessions has been a journeyman since coming into the league, playing for seven teams during his 10 seasons in the league, including repeat stints in Charlotte and Milwaukee.

After averaging 6.2 points and 2.6 assists per game last season, Sessions' value is merely on the mentoring side of basketball, as the team seems intent on developing their youth during the span of this season.
