Soccer or association football fans may not like to hear this, but Rocket League will introduce a new game mode featuring the NFL on February 2. This is due to the partnership between the NFL's Super Bowl LV and Rocket League.

The new mode is called Gridiron, where the American football replaces the soccer ball. Two teams, grouped into four members, will collide. Once you touch the ball, it immediately attaches itself on the roof of the vehicle. As the ball carrier, you have the option to pass the ball to your teammate. This can also be done through the art of dodging.

You also have to be cautious with the way you carry the ball as your opponents can steal it away from you. Double jumping isn't recommended in this mode as the ball immediately drops upon performing the action.

There are also boundaries in the arena as the ball carrier cannot go beyond the field of play, otherwise the ball will fumble.

As for the point system, each goal could either give the team three or seven points. Three points are awarded if the ball enters the goalpost through a shot from distance or through a loose ball. Seven points are rewarded if the ball is attached to the player and he or she manages to bring the ball straight to the post.

Though this is an intriguing concept, the event will only last until February 8. Players grinding their way through this mode will receive rewards like NFL wheels, a fan pack, and 20,000 XP.
