The Houston Rockets appear to have found the magic formula to success on the court, with Alperen Sengun and company extending their win streak to six games by taking down no other than the reigning and defending NBA champs Denver Nuggets at home on Sunday, 107-104.

To say that Sengun played a vital role in the Rockets' stunning upset of the Nuggets would be an understatement. Perhaps Rockets forward Tari Eason had it best when he encapsulated Sengun's brilliance opposite Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets by comparing the talented Turkish big man with, well, Harry Potter.

“Big wizard. Big Harry Potter,” Eason was heard calling Sengun during a postgame interview (h/t Jackson Gatlin of RocketsWatch).

Sengun did it all in the Nuggets game, as he finished with 23 points on 9-for-18 shooting from the field and 5-for-6 from the foul line, added eight boards, dished out five dimes, recorded a steal, and swatted away two shots in 35 minutes of action. Putting together such a terrific stat line against a serious NBA title contender like the Nuggets only shows just how far Sengun has gone, even though, he's still just 21 years old and only in his fourth season in the league.

The Rockets' ongoing surge is clearly feeding off a lot from Sengun's hot stretch. Over the last six Houston games, he has averaged 19.5 points on 63.0 percent shooting from the floor, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.

Up ahead for the Rockets is a showdown versus the struggling Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, as Houston kicks off a three-game road trip.
