Houston Rockets' power forward Christian Wood is under some heat after a brutal game mistake earlier this week. The Rockets took on the Charlotte Hornets Monday night. Down by 12 late in the second quarter, Wood tried to quickly move the ball up the court. He grabbed the rebound and attempted to pass to Josh Christopher, who was nearing half-court. Instead, the ball soared into the crowd, nailing a Charlotte woman in the face.

The woman, Isabella Fitz, is not taking the accident lightly. In an interview, Fitz said that she suffered both physical and emotional blows from the incident. She pointed to where the basketball left red marks on her face, and said that her doctor advised her to stay home from work for three weeks.

Fitz also said that she is unhappy with how Wood and the NBA commentators responded to her injury. “There definitely was a laugh there from the announcer,” she said. After the game, Wood took to social media, posting a laughing emoji, followed by, “happens to the best of us , shaqtin .. courtside tix to any rocket game of her choice.”

She focused on the use of the laughing emoji, and assumed he was directing that, and “happens to the best of us,” towards her. However, it appears that the Rockets player was laughing at his mistake, referencing Shaquille O'Neal's weekly basketball bests and bloopers show, Shaqtin' a Fool. The show's official Twitter page posted the incident Monday night.

Wood's offer of free court-side tickets to any Rockets game of Fitz's choice isn't enough, and she would like a direct apology.
