Despite only standing 4-foot-9, Simone Biles has made a name for herself as one of the best athletes in the world today. She won four gold medals in the gymnastics competition at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and is also a three-time all-around, three-time floor, and two-time balance beam world champion. Given all the feats she has achieved in her career, it has made her very popular, even comparable to other greats from different sports.
Biles was recently invited to become a cheerleader for a day for the Houston Texans, and had the chance to meet a sports legend in the city, former Houston Rockets center Hakeem Olajuwon. They posed for some photos, which shows the distinct difference in height between them.
Olajuwon, who stands at 7-feet, earned the nickname “The Dream” during his playing days for his mesmerizing array of post moves that lull defenders upon execution. He led the Rockets to back-to-back championships in 1994 and 1995, establishing himself as one of the best to ever play the game of basketball.
Their photo goes to show that the height difference may be very evident, but that should not prevent someone from becoming great. It could even be a source of extra motivation for someone to excel in their careers, and that in sports, everyone plays on a level field.
