On their way to locking their sixth straight victory, the Houston Rockets set a franchise record with 28 3-pointers against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Check the clip below for a glimpse of the Rockets' hot night from downtown. Houston shot at a stellar 53.8 percent from 3-point territory or 28-of-52. They were just one 3-pointer away from tying the NBA record that the Milwaukee Bucks set early in the season.
Eric Gordon came off the bench and had a game-high 25 points, which included five 3-pointers. DeMarcus Cousins also had five 3-pointers and ended up with 17 points. Christian Wood and John Wall chipped in 18 points, while Victor Oladipo had 15.
Gordon, a 3-point contest champion, credited the Rockets' hot shooting to their impeccable ball movement. He also expressed his belief that if his team keeps on playing like they did on Monday, then they're close to unbeatable.
“When you're able to move the ball like that, you're unpredictable,” Gordon said, per the Associated Press via ESPN. “It's tough to scout to slow us down when we're playing like that, moving the ball, guys are taking the right shots. As long as we're playing like that, I'll take our chances over anybody.”
New Rockets head coach Stephen Silas also shared his thoughts after the big win. His first-year was also spoiled by the James Harden fiasco, but after all the drama, he is having the time of his life.
“I'm having a blast,” the Rockets tactician said. “I'm not going to wait 20 years to be a head coach and not have fun doing it. Even when times are hard or shaky as they were at the beginning, I'm going to have fun.”
The Rockets will face the Thunder again on Wednesday.
