The Houston Rockets traded Christian Wood to the Dallas Mavericks for the No. 26 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and four players: Boban Marjanovic, Marquese Chriss, Trey Burke and Sterling Brown. What do the Rockets have in store for these four players?

Well, it looks like Boban might be the only one who sticks around, thought even that's not guaranteed. Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle says Houston is “weighing keeping Marjanovic as one of the center options they are considering.” Meanwhile, the Rockets aren't expected to keep the other three players.

This isn't a huge surprise. The prize of this trade for Houston is the No. 26 pick, while the players involved were included to match Wood's salary of around $14 million. The Rockets are reportedly angling to make more trades after this one, including a potential move up into the top two of the draft. Eric Gordon is also being shopped around for another first-round pick.

As for Boban, he saw limited playing time for the Mavs this past season. He appeared in 23 games, averaging 4.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 5.6 minutes per game.

While he has always been a limited player, the 7-foot-3 center is a good guy to have in the locker room. Perhaps the Rockets keep Boban around as a deep bench piece for that reason as they continue their rebuild.
