In the last couple of seasons, Houston Rockets star guard James Harden has taken his game up a notch as an all-around offensive talent being both a premier scorer and distributor.
All of this has built a tremendous amount of confidence in his own ability as he told Tim MacMahon of ESPN that there is no way a defender can stop what he does on the court.

Harden has certainly backed up that notion over the last couple of years since transitioning over to more of a point guard role with the Rockets. He is currently leading the league in both scoring at 31.6 points along with 9.9 assists per contest through the first 17 games played.
What has also been eye-opening is that he has become a more efficient scorer from beyond the arc this season as he's currently hitting a career-high 40.4 percent of his attempts while taking a career-best 11.1 shots per game.
The fact that he has become a more accurate three-point shooter even with the target on his back on a nightly basis as the primary scorer almost entirely without the services of All-Star point guard Chris Paul speaks volume of his offensive ability. If he continues at this pace while the Rockets continue to hold one of the league's best record, there's no question that he will be at the forefront of the MVP award conversation.
