With Carmelo Anthony joining the Houston Rockets, James Harden couldn’t be more pumped up.
After finding out that the 2013 winner of the NBA scoring title has verbally agreed to sign with the team, Harden posted a tweet depicting his new teammate.

Given Harden’s reaction, it’s obvious that the bearded one is already creating imaginative scenarios of kick-outs and behind-the-back passes to a wide-open Anthony on the wing.
The Rockets had been looking at acquiring the services of Anthony ever since they traded for top point guard Chris Paul last year. They got the best of both worlds this offseason, as they have secured Paul to a massive four-year, $160 million deal, while Melo will join the team on a minimum contract after getting bought out by the Atlanta Hawks following his trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Rockets did lose two of their best defending forwards to free agency this summer. In the early days of free agency, Trevor Ariza signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Phoenix Suns, while veteran forward Luc Mbah a Moute agreed to return to the Los Angeles Clippers on a one-year, $4.3 million contract.
The Rockets may have lost some of their fangs defensively, but re-signing Paul and Clint Capela was extremely important, and they are hoping the addition of Melo will make them even more explosive offensively.
