Ahead of his arrival, Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick may have already been tasked to make the final say on a potential transfer.

Manchester United has officially announced the appointing of Ralf Rangnick as the club's interim manager but his working visa is still being processed. However, as early as now, an important task already awaits the German tactician.

Atletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier has been on the Red Devils' radar for quite some time now and he has afinally reached a two-and-a-half-year deal agreement with the club's football director John Murtough, Teamtalk reported.

The report added that Manchester United is willing to meet Atletico Madrid's asking price for Trippier despite club manager Diego Simeone not being keen on the 31-year-old's transfer. However, the player is being insistive about a switch to the English Premier League club. With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now out of the picture, it is Rangnick who will have to decide on the said agreement between both parties.

Apart from Manchester United, the report said that Trippier is also being tracked by Newcastle United. However, it is believed that the LaLiga star has only set his sights on the Red Devils.

Rangnick is expected to immediately improve Manchester United and if the report is to be true, it appears that the decision-making in transfers is also within his scope of work as an interim manager.

The former Lokomotiv Moscow head of sports and development will be managing Manchester United until the end of the season and will be taking a technical advisor job afterwards.
