Ryan Gosling explains what “Ken-ergy” is supposed to be, but all it sounds like is that the Ken in the Barbie movie is just FLAT-OUT BROKE.

The Barbie movie won't be coming out until 2023, but the movie's leading man Ryan Gosling is already being teased about his role as Ken, even in his other projects. In an interview with ET Online to promote his new Netflix film The Gray Man, Gosling teased some details about the upcoming Barbie Movie, which includes a concept he calls “Ken-ergy.”

About The Gray Man, where Gosling plays the role of a CIA mercenary who goes rogue when he uncovers dirt on the agency, he says: “What I didn't realize was just how many people it takes to make an action hero. It looks like it’s me doing all those things, and yes, I do some of it, but we had an incredible stunt team, and an incredible special effects team.”

In the film, Gosling co-stars Chris Evans, who, in the film, calls him a “Ken Doll,” which is amusing given how Gosling is actually starring as Ken in the Barbie 2023 film. About this remark, Gosling says that it doesn't feel like an insult at all like how it's intended. “I have that Ken-ergy that you can feel, obviously,” he joked. When asked what this Ken-ergy thing he is talking about, he says: “You've got a Ken in your life, and you know that Ken has … Ken-ergy. Ken's got no money, he's got no job, he's got no car, he's got no house. He's going through some stuff.”

The impression we're getting is that Ken in the Barbie Movie is just flat-out broke, but still attractive, lest why would Barbie even be interested in this Boy Toy? We've also seen early images of the film where Barbie, played by Margot Robbie, is driving a plastic car, we're guessing that Barbie won't really mind if Ken was indeed broke. Sadly, Ryan Gosling didn't share any more details about the upcoming romantic comedy film, otherwise, Mattel would, in his words, would box him up.
