When it comes to the recent slander that's come against New Orleans future Hall of Famer quarterback Drew Brees, standout running back Alvin Kamara isn't going for it (via NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill).

Brees has been under fire throughout the first three games of the season. His arm strength has been under a microscope with every flick of the wrist. His numbers haven't been an eyesore, but many spectators agree that from observing him on the field, his style of play is diminishing possibly due to his age.

If anyone can speak to Brees' resilience, it's Kamara. The halfback has seen his stock rise even higher after becoming a primary pass-catcher throughout his first three games of the season with star receiver Michael Thomas sidelined. He leads the team in receiving yards so far with 285 receiving yards. Kamara has also caught 87.1 percent of his passes and is primed for another Pro Bowl year if his first three games serve as evidence.

After dropping two straight games, the Saints fan base and media are looking for a scapegoat, one they've likely found in Brees. Their first win came against an unorganized Tampa Bay Buccaneers club, which hasn't held much weight since.

There shouldn't be much chat surrounding Brees' game if the case study is his last outing. The contest resulted in a loss against the Green Bay Packers, but Brees made sure to leave his mark. He finished the game completing 80.6 percent of his passes. He threw for 288 yards along with three touchdowns, resulting in him having a 127.8 quarterback rating for the game.

Brees will continue to silence the doubters in Week 4 as the Saints go up against the Detroit Lions.
