If Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton finds a bottle of wine on his dining table when he gets home, he can thank New Orleans defensive end Cameron Jordan for that.

After the Saints dealt Newton and the Panthers a 31-26 loss last Sunday in the wild-card round, Jordan posted an image on his Instagram account of a wine bottle he said he would send to Newton’s address.

Jordan had the wine ready even before the game, sarcastically telling reporters following Sunday’s win that he felt obliged to send something to Newton for sweeping the Panthers this season, per Josh Katzenstein of NOLA.com.

“You beat the Carolina Panthers three times in a year, I'm gonna have to send this guy a wine bottle,” Jordan said of Newton, pointing to a bottle of wine in his locker. “I appreciate him for being that good ol' quarterback. I'm gonna send him a nice little bottle of Jordan wine. No, it's not mine, but I have been drinking it for years. So, I'm going to send him some sauce.”

Apart from Sunday’s win, the Saints also had two victories over Carolina back in the regular season.

This was not the first time that Cameron Jordan and Cam Newton have engaged in a seemingly harmless episode of trash talking. Earlier this season, Jordan mocked Newton’s fashion sense, calling some of the latter’s clothing articles as “grandma hat” and “Coachella onesie.” Newton would later reply to Jordan’s comments, saying that he was happy to hear that the defensive end was keeping tabs of his getup, per Mike Triplett of ESPN.

Later in the year, Newton said, “I didn't know he was a fan of my dress code. Honestly, he's paying attention. Nevertheless, that's flattering to me. If he wants to send me his address I can send him some sauce.”

Hopefully, Cameron Jordan did include a packet of sauce along with the wine bottle to Cam Newton.
