With all eyes on the NFL as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Super Bowl Sunday, New Orleans Saints defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson decided to take advantage of the opportunity to make an announcement. The 23-year-old took to Twitter to tell the world that his mixtape is set for public consumption on Monday.

Gardner-Johnson made the announcement via his own Twitter account:

Based on the image above, it is clear that Gardner-Johnson is extremely serious about his career as a rapper. The album cover looks like every other cover you'd see in the record store, and we only hope that the music is as good as the impressive artwork.

The choice for the title of the mixtape — “Misunderstood” — is something that piqued our interest. This is likely in reference to all the criticism Gardner-Johnson has received throughout his career. In particular, we're looking back at the infamous (alleged) spitting and punching incident involving the Chicago Bears' Javon Wims earlier in the season. Gardner-Johnson was on the receiving end of a couple of helmet punches from Wims, but the former also received a lot of flack for allegedly instigating the fight.

That was not the first time the Saints stud was involved in a heated on-field exchange, too. He's considered by some as a bit of a menace, so perhaps his mixtape will shed some light as to why he believes he is “misunderstood.” This fact alone could be enough to make us want to listen to the album once it drops.
