The Los Angeles Rams managed to make yet another splash this offseason with the acquisition of wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the New England Patriots. However, it seems not everyone was impressed by the deal.

Cooks now finds himself on his third team in three years after initially beginning his career with the New Orleans Saints. Following his most recent trade, former Saints teammate Michael Thomas posted a somewhat cryptic tweet in response:

Thomas is likely referring to the fact that Cooks may be on his way to becoming somewhat of an NFL journeyman. However, it is still difficult to pinpoint where the speedy wideout has gone wrong thus far in his career.

He started out as the primary weapon in New Orleans' pass-heavy scheme. Although he saw tremendous usage in his first few years, it started to decline with the emergence of Thomas. As a result, he was ultimately traded to New England prior to the 2017 season. There he served as the Patriots' No. 1 wide receiver in the passing game and registered 65 catches for 1,082 yards and seven touchdowns en route to an appearance in Super Bowl LII.

He now finds himself with a Rams team that has clearly gone all in on making a championship run of their own next season. Furthermore, they felt compelled to give up a first and a sixth-round pick (getting a fourth-rounder in return) despite the fact that he is an unrestricted free next year. While Cooks has certainly been on the move in recent years, it seems he may finally be ready to settle down with his new team.
