In 2015, the New Orleans Saints drafted Stephone Anthony with the 31st overall pick, but after just a few seasons he was traded away to the Miami Dolphins for a fifth round pick. Today, however, Ian Rapoport reported that Anthony was on his way back to New Orleans after re-signing him due to a multitude of injuries suffered at the linebacker position.

While the Saints are not expecting Anthony to produce the first-round impact as they did when he was drafted, the depth is much needed at this time with linebacker Kaden Elliss dealing with a knee injury.

In addition, linebacker Alex Anzalone has been put on IR with a shoulder injury. Drew Brees is also out with a thumb injury and Teddy Bridgewater was able to do just enough to pull out a victory against the Seattle Seahawks.

Where the Saints plan to use Anthony the most is on special teams, where he reunites with former Miami special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi. In Miami, Anthony played the second most snaps on the special teams unit with 353. Before landing with the Saints, Anthony spent some time with the Atlanta Falcons before being released, as well as the New York Jets.

We will have to see the impact he is able to make on special teams and defense as the Saints will face off against the star-studded Dallas Cowboys, as they will do their best to try to slow down Dak Prescott and the rest of their offensive unit.
