The New Orleans Saints will be heading into their Week 11 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons without their starting quarterback in Drew Brees after he previously suffered rib fractures and a collapsed lung.

Multiple reports have already surfaced that the Saints have named Taysom Hill over Jameis Winston as their starter. However, head coach Sean Payton recently debunked the swirling rumors and insisted that he hasn't given any news regarding their quarterback situation against the Falcons yet.

“I haven’t announced that either one of them are starting,” Saints head coach Sean Payton said.

Though they have already made a decision internally, the Saints have yet to name the starter in public.

“Someone has been named the starter, but we haven’t announced it. Is that alright?” he said, via Sean Fazende of FOX 8.

Despite the developments, the Saints previously listed Hill as their official QB2 behind Brees, instead of Winston. It won't come as a surprise to many if they ultimately confirm that Hill will indeed be starting under center against the Falcons in Week 11.

Last season, it was Teddy Bridgewater who slotted in as the team's QB1 in lieu of Brees' absence for five games and went on to successfully win all of those outings for the Saints. However, the New Orleans-based squad won't be having the luxury of having his services this time around as he already relocated to the Carolina Panthers during the offseason.

The Saints are coming off a 27-13 win against the San Francisco 49ers to both their seventh win of the season and gain control of the pole position in the NFC South division. Head coach Sean Payton will be hoping to have good results with his backup playmaker at the helm especially with Brees expected to remain on the sidelines for two weeks.
