The New Orleans Saints have a couple of players that can break NFL records in Week 16. Among them, Michael Thomas needs 11 receptions on Sunday to break the single-season record per Field Yates.
Potential history to be made by the Saints today: with 4 straight completions to begin the game today, Drew Brees would set the NFL record for most consecutive completions (26), while Michael Thomas needs 11 catches to reach 144, the most ever in a single season.

Thus far, Thomas has accumulated 133 receptions, 1,552 yards, and eight touchdowns for the Saints. The Saints' All-Pro wide receiver is just 11 receptions away from surpassing Marvin Harrison's longstanding record of 143 receptions in 2002.
In the past three seasons, Thomas has now recorded three consecutive years with 100 receptions, 1,000 yards, and at least five touchdowns. The Ohio State product has undoubtedly become one of the best pass-catchers that the NFL has to offer.
Last week, Thomas was able to corral 12 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown versus the Indianapolis Colts. While he had a notable performance, Drew Brees stole the show by completing 29 of his 30 attempts for 309 yards and four scores.
With Brees tossing four touchdowns, he surpassed Peyton Manning for the most passing touchdowns in NFL history. Of course, Manning was Harrison's quarterback in 2002 when he set the single-season record for receptions.
Similarly to Manning and Harrison, Brees and Thomas are putting their stamp on the NFL this season. Besides Thomas, Brees could set an NFL record for most consecutive completions if he's able to convert his first four passes on Sunday.
For most wide receivers, getting 11 receptions seems like a tall task for one game. But for Thomas, it almost seems inevitable that he is going to record 11 receptions against the Tennessee Titans in Week 16.
As a matter of fact, Thomas already has five games this season that he's been able to tally 11 or more catches.
