The Minnesota Timberwolves are widely believed to hold Andrew Wiggins‘ value in high esteem, as they see him playing a big part in their future plans. However, if it was up to the team’s former coach, he’d trade him for one particular player.

As rumors continue to swirl about Kyrie Irving possibly landing with the Wolves, Sam Mitchell recently made it known that he would agree to deal Wiggins for him, if he had the power to do so.

While Irving is the more decorated player between the two, Wiggins has also shown a lot of upside in the past couple of seasons. Since entering the league in 2014, there has been plenty of improvement in his game, and even increased his scoring output each year. This past season, he averaged a career-high 23.6 points to along with 2.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steal in 37.2 minutes per game.

As it stands, no offer has been made by the Timberwolves for the services of the four-time All-Star yet, and it remains to be seen if they’ll ever make one. However, it’s very hard to imagine the Cavs accepting any offer from them if they won’t include the 22-year-old Canadian international in the package as they do not have enough assets that would make an offer very appealing for the Northeast Ohio team.
