The Seattle Seahawks claimed wide receiver Josh Gordon off waivers after the New England Patriots released him. They were the only team to put a claim in for him.

However, it appears they were not the only team that wanted him. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, David Canter (Gordon's agent) says nine teams wanted to work out the star wide receiver if he cleared waivers.

Canter did not name any of the teams that wanted to have Gordon work out for them. That's not all that surprising though.

It's also not surprising that there were a lot of teams at least somewhat interested in Gordon. Despite all the issues with injuries and other things over the past years, Gordon is still seen as an incredible talent.

He's a massive target at 6'3″, 225 lbs with amazing athleticism. Gordon uses that size and skill to be one of the most dangerous men on the field at any moment.

This year, he racked up 20 receptions for 287 yards and one touchdown in six games for the Patriots. With New England, his role seemed a little unclear. That was due to all the moving parts. Obviously Julian Edelman is a constant in the offense. They've had Demaryius Thomas and Antonio Brown at times as well though.

All those different looks caused Gordon to be the odd man out at times. Now with Mohamed Sanu joining the mix, New England didn't seem to need Gordon anymore.

Their loss is a massive gain for the Seahawks though. And now we know a few other teams were hoping for a chance at Josh Gordon's services should he have cleared waivers.
