Seattle Seahawks backfield duo of Chris Carson and Raashad Penny is one of the best in the NFL. The bond the two share is much more than their box score stats.
After gashing the Vikings on the first drive of the third quarter of Monday night’s win, Carson subbed himself out of the game at the five-yard-line so Penny could get in the end zone.
Penny scored a one-yard touchdown two plays later.
Penny is coming into his own the last two games after being selected in the late first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. In the past two weeks, Penny has rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns.
Penny rushed for only 419 yards in his rookie season, being tagged a disappointment before his career truly started. It looks to be turning around as Penny is getting a better understanding of the NFL, and getting his weight down.
Carson is having another standout season in the Seahawks run-first offense, with 981 rushing yards, 227 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
Seattle now stands at 10-2 and first in the NFC West, as well as second in the NFC Conference. The win over Minnesota bumped the San Francisco 49ers to a wild card spot, after their loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Seattle and San Francisco will meet in Week 17 in Seattle.
Until then, Seattle travels to Los Angeles to take on the Rams in Week 14.
