Jamal Adams is now a member of the Seattle Seahawks, prompting Gregg Williams ā€” the defensive coordinator of the New York Jets ā€” to say Adams will be bored in Seattle's defense. While Adams gets accustomed to his new team, he took a jab back at Williams for his ā€˜bored' comments.

When speaking about the safety's departure earlier this week, Williams said Adams will get bored in Seattle's defensive scheme. The longtime defensive coordinator believes he won't be utilized the same on his new team. Shortly after Williams' comments, Pete Carroll came out in defense of Adams, saying ā€œhe's not bringing Gregg Williams with him that's for sureā€.

During his first three seasons with the Jets, the 24-year0old cemented himself as arguably the best safety in the NFL. Just a season ago, Adams tallied seven pass breakups, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception.

Since his debut in 2017, the two-time Pro Bowler has excelled as a versatile defender that can play multiple positions on defense. Thus, the reason why he was able to come close to breaking the single-season sack record for a defensive back in 2019. The record is currently held by Adrian Wilson, who had eight sacks in 2005.

Given his contributions in recent seasons, Adams knows that he'll be missed by the Jets and Williams in 2020. Even though Williams won't want to admit it, he'll have a tough time replacing the All-Pro safety's production this season. Seeing that the Seahawks and Jets play each other in Week 14, it's fair to say that game is circled on both team's calendars.
