The Seattle Seahawks managed to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 40-34. It was a closer score than what a lot of Seahawks fans could have wanted against the Bucs, and some have already gone for Jason Myers' neck due to his inconsistent play. Pete Carroll knows this.

Many are perplexed about how a Pro Bowl kicker like Myers struggled to find the goalpost that often. Some may even be calling for his ouster from the league. However, head coach Pete Carroll insists that he still trusts his kicker–who he paid $5.5 million in guaranteed money this offseason–is still the answer to the team's kicking woes.

It's a great showcase of solidarity for the Seahawks that they support their kicker in spite of his poor run of form. They signed him with the hopes that he'll be able to replicate his breakout year with the New York Jets where he managed to make the Pro Bowl. However, his numbers since joining the team have taken a significant dip.

During the Bucs game, he missed a 47-yard field goal attempt that could have given the team more cushion. Moreover, he missed a PAT and a 40-yard kick at the end of regulation that could have prevented the Seahawks from having to win it in overtime.

Moreover, his accuracy this season has been nothing short of atrocious. He's now 2-of-5 from the 40-49-yard mark and is 1-of-3 from beyond the 50-yard line.

The Seahawks need a decent kicker if they want to win the Super Bowl. They saw how Chicago crumbled during the playoffs, and it's in their best interests to have Myers performing better now rather than later.
