The offseason is ramping up once again as teams across the league are aiming to sign any free agents remaining. For the Seattle Seahawks, they still have several holes on the roster after the 2022 NFL Draft. However, it sounds like the front office might be finding their replacement for Bobby Wagner, as KJ Wright wants to return to his former team. Head coach Pete Carroll responds.

According to ESPN, on a guest appearance on Trey Wingo's podcast, Wright claims, “I want to go back home. I think it's that simple. Seattle knows that I want to come back. They know how much they mean to me.” It would make sense for the Seahawks to sign the veteran linebacker. KJ Wright can be a leader for the defense for at least one season until the front office finds a prospect linebacker to take over.

Seahawks' head coach Pete Carroll reacted to Wright's desire to play in Seattle, stating, “I love K.J. I've already talked to him about stuff for the future and all that. I did hear that he talked about playing, and we've already talked about that,” per ESPN.

KJ Wright played the first 10 years of his career in Seattle, helping them achieve a Super Bowl victory during that time. The veteran linebacker is near the end of his career and it sounds like he wants to finish his days with the Seahawks. This would be a smart signing for this franchise, as they don't have the best linebacking core right now.

Keep an eye on KJ Wright, as Seattle may pull the trigger in the coming weeks. He'd give the Seahawks some consistency within the front seven and be a leader for the young prospects on the roster.
