The Black Lives Matter movement is still going strong this week and the Seattle Seahawks are joining in on the cause. In an event that was organized by the wives of Kam Chancellor and K.J. Wright, Pete Carroll and other members of the Seahawks joined in the Bridge to the Future march.

Tiffany Chancellor and Nathalie Wright conducted the march that took place on the I-90 bridge in Seattle. Plenty of people attended the event, holding signs that conveyed the message of Black Lives Matter.

Besides Carroll and some of the players that attended, Seahawks GM John Schneider was in attendance. During the march, Carroll would share that the ultimate goal is to bring about the ‘respect and equality that all people deserve'.

In its entirety, the march that was held for justice and equality ended up being a mile and a half long. Once everyone was able to cross to the Seattle side of the bridge, they held a moment of silence for the lives lost.

Similar to most teams, the Seahawks and Carroll have put football on the backburner to speak about the racial issues that are prevalent. On the other hand, Carroll would preach that simply supporting the cause isn't good enough anymore:

“Just being on it isn’t good enough. Just being on board ain’t good enough,” Carroll said on an online Zoom call Thursday, 17 days after a white Minneapolis police offer pressed his knee into black man Floyd’s neck for more than eight minutes before he died.

Everyone would love to see more actions than words in hopes to create change to the racial injustices still occurring today. It's safe to say the Seahawks are doing their part in manufacturing change.
