The Seattle Seahawks were popular names in the NFL trade rumor mill as Russell Wilson's name was tossed around quite a bit. As the NFL Draft came and went with Wilson not going anywhere, it appears the Seahawks are keeping him on board as their franchise quarterback.

Wilson got honest and spoke on the reported trade request sent out from him amid his frustrations with the Seahawks, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“I did not request a trade. I’ve always wanted to play here…I’m here and I’m here to win. I’m here to win at all,” Wilson said.

Well, that puts that debate to bed, right? Wilson had every right to be frustrated after getting wrecked behind a below-average offensive line and concerns about the offensive scheme. The Seahawks changed offensive coordinators and brought in another pass-catcher in former Los Angeles Rams tight end Gerald Everett.

Wilson's ultimate goal– as is everybody's– is to bring home a Lombardi Trophy, and with the Seahawks' talented roster it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibilities.

After the Pacific Northwest was buzzing with hype in previous seasons, the Seahawks tripped up in the tough NFC West. Well, it got even better, and there's a lot to like about every team in the division.

Either way, it is assuring to hear Wilson speak on the trade rumors and double down on his commitment to the Seahawks organization and desire to win a Super Bowl.
