It's the end of the line for the Seattle Seahawks OC Brian Schottenheimer. After three years at the helm of the Seahawks offense, the team has now officially parted ways with the 47-year-old coach, citing philosophical differences.

“Schotty”, as he's fondly referred to, has been one of the reasons why the Seahawks have had a blistering offense over the past few years. Unfortunately, the lack of post-season success in his time in Seattle has forced the organization to move on and shake things up.

Russell Wilson had nothing but love for Schottenheimer. The QB took to Twitter to post a heartfelt message for his coach after three solid years together.

“Schotty… I'm grateful for how much you meant to me over the past three years. God blessed me with you, we won a lot of games, threw a lot of touchdowns and had a blast in meetings and our bible studies. The best days are ahead for you. Go be Great. God first. Love. 3.” Wilson tweeted (via NBC Sports).

The tandem of Russ and Schotty has been quite a glorious one for Seattle. In the past three seasons, the two have combined for a 33-15 record mainly due to their offensive efficiency through the years. This season, Wilson tallied a career-high 40 touchdowns and 4,212 yards (seven yards away from tying his career-high). He also completed 384/558 passes for a 68% completion rating – the best in his nine-year career in the league. The Seahawks also clinched the NFC West title for the first time in four years.

Unfortunately, the Seahawks offense couldn't produce enough points as they bowed out of the 2021 playoffs against the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round last Sunday. It's back to the drawing board for Russ and the rest of the Seahawks.
