All eyes have been on Seattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver D.K Metcalf, but Russell Wilson has been impressed by another rookie wideout, Gary Jennings Jr. Seahawks quarterback Paxton Lynch connected on a couple of long passes to Jennings, including one where he went past two defenders for a touchdown.

“I think Gary had a great day today. It was his best day yet,” quarterback Russell Wilson said via Seahawks Wire. “He really needed it, to be honest with you, just to make some plays and get the ball in his hands, one, to show himself he can be great in this league, hopefully, and two, to the team.”

The Seahawks drafted Jennings in the fourth round of April's draft and he has been pretty quiet leading up to this point. Wilson has also taken notice of that and thinks the next goal for Jennings should be to have two good practices in a row.

“If you can put back to back days together and learn how to do that every day, you may have something great there,” Wilson said.

Metcalf is gaining all the attention, as he should be, but that has caused Jennings to gain much traction in the media. It doesn't really matter what the media thinks though and it's clear that he has caught the eye of Wilson and that is what is most important.

If Jennings can continue to have a strong showing the next couple of weeks, he should get plenty of chances this upcoming season.
