The Seattle Seahawks have made an attempt to enhance their stable of resources for the season by signing former Los Angeles Chargers QB Cardale Jones. He will be joining the team's practice squad for the season.

Tom Pelissero confirmed the news that will tie the former Ohio State QB to the Super Bowl XLVIII winners.

Jone was taken in the fourth round of the 2016 draft by the Buffalo Bills despite prematurely ending his stint at the year's scouting combine. Some consider him unprepared for the pros, and his numbers showed just that. He only played seven games for the Bills his rookie year, completing six of his eleven passes for 8.7 yards per attempt.

The Chargers took a chance in him afterwards, seeing him as a quarterback to develop for the future. The team got him for a conditional draft pick in the 2017 offseason. The next year, the team waived and signed him to the practice squad after failing to make a single appearance throughout the preseason.

During the 2019 preseason, he tried to fight for his place in the team. He showed a couple of highlights during the preseason, one of which was an incredible run in the 2nd quarter against the San Francisco that saw him flip for the TD.

However, the Chargers eventually cut him from the team by the end of the preseason. The Seahawks found him impressive enough to be included in the team's practice squad. However, they are comfortable on settling with Geno Smith as the primary backup for Russell Wilson.

This is not the way Jones saw his NFL career panning out so far. But all he can do is work and keep his head down until a break comes his way and he gets to prove himself once more.
