It is no secret that the Seattle Seahawks are in the market for an edge rusher. Former Denver Broncos linebacker Shane Ray has landed on their radar.

The Seahawks have been doing their due diligence with some of the edge rushers still on the market. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, they are scheduled to host Ray for a visit:

The Seahawks will host free-agent LB Shane Ray on a visit tomorrow, source says. The former Broncos first-rounder will be in the building following Ziggy Ansah’s visit earlier this week. Seattle clearly looking to add an edge rusher.

The decision to meet with Ray certainly makes sense for the Seahawks. They parted ways with their only bonafide pass rusher in defensive end Frank Clark this offseason in an attempt to shore up some cap space to help fill their other needs on the roster. This has left them with a rather notable void on defense.

Seattle already hosted former Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah for a workout earlier this week. It appears they are still set on scouring the market for the right fit.

Ray would certainly make plenty of sense after he made his bones as a solid edge rusher during his time in Denver. Unfortunately, his career has been derailed by injury in recent years and the Broncos ultimately decided not to exercise his fifth-year option.

Ray has already visited with a few teams this offseason. His current free agent status indicates that he has no problem being patient with the process. It will be interesting to see if he leaves Seattle without a deal as well.
