Shaquem Griffin is one of the storylines to watch this season as he is in his rookie season with the Seattle Seahawks. Griffin was born with only one hand but that hasn't stopped him from playing the game he loves, and making a big impression in the Seahawks locker room.

Griffin has already picked off Russell Wilson during training camp and he has caught the eye of linebacker Bobby Wagner.

“Shaquem is definitely one that stands out to me,” linebacker Bobby Wagner told USA Today. “All the people that doubted him because he doesn’t have a hand? He’s a great player. He’s flying around making plays, he picked off Russ, he’s batting down passes, making sacks.”

Seattle defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. has been really impressed with how smart Griffin is. He has made mistakes like most rookies do during training camp but he doesn't make the same mistake twice. Norton thinks everyone focuses too much on him missing his hand, and not enough on just how good of football player he is.

“He’s playing surprisingly really good,” Seattle defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. said. “I mean, this kid is fast, he’s really smart, he’s really physical, he doesn’t make the same mistake twice, and he shows up every day. He’s for real. We understand that he’s missing a hand — and everybody focuses on that note — but he’s a real football player. . . . He’s a joy to coach.”

There is no doubt that Griffin missing a hand in part led to the fall on draft night although the Seahawks don't care because they might have just got themselves a steal.
