Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas has been linked to the Dallas Cowboys since week 16 of last season when Earl Thomas told Jason Garrett to “come get him” if the Cowboys have the chance. The two teams have discussed a trade throughout the offseason although it's still unlikely a deal gets done because the Seahawks have too high of asking price according to Josina Anderson of ESPN.

Thomas clarified the comments last year saying he still wanted to be with the Seahawks. Once the team didn't want him anymore that's when he wanted the Cowboys to come get him.

“I don't literally mean, ‘Come get me now,'” he said via CBS Sports. “I'm still in the prime of my career. I still want to be here. But when Seattle kicks me to the curb, please, the Cowboys, come get me. This is the only place I'd rather be if I get kicked to the curb.”

Now though those words might not ring true. Thomas has made no indication that he will report to training camp and he has made it clear that he wants either an extension from the Seahawks or to be traded to a team like the Cowboys.

Thomas is entering the last year of a four-year, $40 million contract and is looking for a big payday. He is one of the best safeties in the NFL and is looking to be paid like one. Thomas has been a star on the field but has dealt with some injury issues which might cause the Seahawks to pause just a bit at an extension.
