Though the NFL is still a long way off, that hasn’t stopped Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson from getting his reps in, as this video entails, via his Twitter account.

As you can see, Wilson is doing a workout with what can only be described as an obelisk-shaped automaton that seems hungry to attack the six-time Pro-Bowler. Thankfully, these “dummies” are clearly programmed simply to act as a pass rusher, which they do capably.

Unless the Seahawks shore up their offensive line, Wilson will likely be faced with a bevy of pass rushers next season. The 31-year-old quarterback was sacked a whopping 48 times last year, which was tops in the NFL, and over the course of his career, he has only been sacked less than 40 times in a season one time (that’s right, no).

That occurrence, all the way back in his rookie season of 2012, when he was sacked 33 times. That hasn’t stopped the 2014 Super Bowl champion from putting up some of the best numbers in the NFL on a consistent basis, however.

Wilson is 9th among all active players in passing touchdowns with a lofty 227. Perhaps more impressive is his sky-high passer rating, which is second all-time in NFL history at 101.2. Similarly, Wilson is second all-time in career in adjusted yard per pass attempt with 8.26. The former third-round pick is also fifth all-time in raw yards per pass attempt at 7.9 – which is first overall among active players.

Sure, he might not be playing against machines when the NFL starts again, but at least the veteran is getting his reps in.
